“Even a man who is pure of heart and says his prayers at night”…. Can’t stop yet another Hollywood horror remake! With nearly every one of the major Universal monsters classic horror films of the ’30s been remade, it’s time for a 21st century remake of “
The Wolfman” to stand alongside “
Dracula,” “
Frankenstein,” and “The
Mummy.”
Slated for release in April 2009, the film stars Benicio Del Toro in the title role as Larry Talbot, taking on the part made famous in the original by Lon Chaney, Jr. Talbot returns to his ancestral homeland and is bitten by a werewolf. Iron Man was red-hot. Robert Downey, Jr.’s performance as Tony Stark and his titular alter-ego made comic fans and film critics alike take Marvel comics’ film division seriously. Hulk 2, while not as good as Iron Man, still was a vast improvement over the first Hulk film.
Now, it’s up to Marvel’s newest movie to see if that quality streak can continue. Punisher: War Zone is the sequel to 2004’s Punisher movie hitting theatres on December 5th, 2008.

If you’re like me, you’re already burnt out on all this holiday cheer. It’s not even Thanksgiving yet, and already, radio stations have been “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” non-stop. This onslaught of seasonal sap started even before Halloween with Christmas items stacked on shelves before all of the trick or treat goodies were handed out!
If the Christmas spirit’s got you down, you may not be able to take a blowtorch to Frosty the Snowman (or better yet, pitch a Yule Log at him, for a festive touch!), but you can Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas with these few survival tips:

Kicking its way into theatres in the early part of 2009 is
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. This will be the second live action film based on Capcom’s blockbuster video game franchise, the first one made in 1994 and starring the late Raul Julia as the villainous M. Bison. This new film does not appear to have any links in continuity to the first film, other than the fact that it’s based off of the game.
A lot of newer characters are to be featured in the film alongside veteran Street Fighters. Chun Li will be played by Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk and M. Bison is played by Neal McDonough. Other actors rounding out the cast include Academy Award nominee Michael Clark Duncan, Robin Shou (Liu Kang from the Mortal Kombat films), and Chris Klein (American Pie). The story follows Interpol agent Chun Li’s quest to avenge her father’s death at the hands of Bison.

A tradition that marks the start of the Thanksgiving Day festivities and heralds the onset of the Christmas holiday season, the Macy’s Thanskgiving Parade is now in its 82nd year. Held in New York City and sponsored by the upscale chain department store, this year’s parade is on Thursday November 27th.
Among the featured floats, balloons, and performers are Dora the Explorer, the Harajuku Girls. Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, and many more! Miley Cyrus will also be on hand for the festivities, although it’s unknown whether or not she’ll be in full Hannah Montana mode.
And, as always, the special guests of honor, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be there to usher in the holiday season at the parade’s end.

Sandwiched between two of the biggest holidays of the calendar year in terms of spending, Thanksgiving doesn’t get the same amount of respect given to Halloween and Christmas. Sure, there’s no trick or treating or fun, horror-themed costumes to wear (unless you’re going as a bloody
Turkey, or one of Aunt Matilda’s “burnt offerings,” a gastrological nightmare if there ever was one!) and there’s no extravagant gift-giving to be had.
However, these should all be reasons to celebrate Thanksgiving! There’s no pressure to mob the malls (until Black Friday, at least) and who says you can’t dress up?! While you’re sitting around at a Thanksgiving Day Parade or watching Macy’s on TV, or checking out the slew of college football games that make up a big part of television scheduling, you can put on a Turkey Hat for comic effect. Or, better yet, make your family and guests wear Indian headdresses or Pilgrim Hats to get them into the festivities.

He worked his macabre magic on Sweeney Todd last year. In early March of 2010, Tim Burton will unleash his vision of Alice in Wonderland in theatres. Mixing CG and live-action, some of the cast list has already leaked out, featuring some of Burton’s mainstays in the film. Burton’s “good luck charm,” Johnny Depp will play the role of the whacky Mad Hatter. It won’t be the first time Depp will sport some crazy head gear in one of the director’s films, having portrayed Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Also appearing in the film are Burton’s wife and frequent collaborator, Helena Bonham Carter, as well as other familiar faces with Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar and Christopher Lee in an as-yet undisclosed role. Rounding out the cast are Crispin Glover (who gave a fun, creepy turn in Willard), Matt Lucas of Little Britain playing both Tweedledee and Tweedledum; Anne Hathaway, and newcomer Mia Wasikowska as Alice. To read more about the cast and their roles, check here.
