About Sharpay

An award-wining Disney Channel made-for-tv movie series, High School Musical follows a group of friends through the course of the big game, scholastic decathlon, and the school musical tryouts. Released in January 2006 and set to a best selling soundtrack, the movie followed Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez whose tryout for the musical changes their school and their lives. Sharpay and Ryan Evans are a sibling duo that are Troy and Gabriella’s competition for the lead roles of the musical. Perky, manipulative and controlling, Sharpay, played by Ashley Tisdale, uses her charms, looks and cunning to try to deter Troy and Gabriella from trying out. After a struggle and her ultimate defeat, Sharpay lets go of her jealousy and realizes that they are “all in this together.”
