About Indian

Indian is just another name for Native American. An Indian can also refer to someone who lives in India; however traditionally in the US we think of Indians as the Native Americans who were the first to settle in America. The Indian culture was one of either nomads or farmers, sometimes both. They lived off the land, believing in the land, and nature. History has moved them to reservations in the past. Now many are still on the reservations, but others still live beside us. Alaska has several Indian cultures or Native Alaskans that still live off the land.

Dressing up as Indian

There are many costumes in the Indian segment for you to choose from. You can be an adult or infant and still find something for yourself. The Indian costumes are typically patterned after leather costumes with long skirts, short skirts, or pants with tunic like tops. To top of the costumes are Indian head dresses, feathers, or moccasins. For more costume ideas if you don’t find something in the Indian section try Native American or Pocahontas. Other compliments to the costumes are wigs in the braided style we usually see in movies. You also have tomahawks or hunting knives.
