The swivel from Elvis's pelvis or the curl of The King's upper lip may not have had the same impact if they weren't framed by Presley's lush, black locks. Elvis' hair changed somewhat over the years as did his musical style and stage costumes, but it was always black, shellacked, and shiny. A youthful, Jailhouse Rock Elvis sported a modified pompadour with a spitcurl in the front. Elvis in his later years as a Vegas mainstay in the '70s rocked a taller, longer version of his older style with pork-chop sideburns to frame his Kingly face.
