About Jafar

Jafar is a fictional character from Aladdin. Jafar is the Grand Vizier or sorcerer to the Sultan of Agrabah in the film. The tail of Aladdin is older than just the movie, but Jafar was first noticed when the film was released in 1992. There was also a sequel starring Jafar called the Return of Jafar. Jafar tries to kill Aladdin as well as take Princess Jasmine for himself while hypnotizing the Sultan.
Jafar is supposed to be a great sorcerer, but without his staff he is actually incapable of doing much of anything. In the first movie the staff is broken to break the spells he has cast and right Agrabah as a kingdom. Jafar does end up banished as a Genie in the end to a lamp lost in the Desert.

Dressing up as Jafar

To dress as Jafar you will need an Arabian sorcerer outfit. Typically this outfit consists of a black robe with red sleeves, with a sash around the waist. It will also have a black and red cape, with turban for the head. If you want you can also purchase the Cobra staff that offers the character powers. Other costume ideas for evil sorcerers to check out include Darth Vader, Snape, and Voldemort.
