Having burst onto the pop music scene in the '80s, Cyndi Lauper made a big splash with her colorful, fire-engine red hair, flouncy lace skirts and tons of jewelry. Her album "She's So Unusual" summed her up perfectly. Her distinctive, screechy yet melodic voice allowed her to become the first artist to release four singles that cracked the Top 5 on the Billboard charts including the anthemic "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," "She Bop," "All Through The Night," and the beautiful "Time After Time." Still writing, recording, and touring, Cyndi Lauper is also a crusader for gay rights and a humanitarian. Not too bad for a kooky New Yawk girl.
