A tradition that dates back to to the early days of Christianity and may quite possibly have stemmed from Pagan Yule traditions, as well, the Christmas tree is usually some sort of coniferous tree such as a fir or pine that is decorated with ornaments, tinsel, garland, and other items. Atop the Christmas tree, as per tradition, is either an Angel or Star, symbolic of the Star of Bethlehem that brought the Magi to Jesus' birthplace or the Angels who appeared to the Wise Men and Shepherds to tell them Christ was born.
