About British Redcoats

Between the 1700s and 1900s, the British army sported crimson hued uniforms, earning them the name of "Redcoats" due to their vividly colored uniforms. Having been dispatched by England to wage a war on the 13 colonies that would become the United States, their uniforms may have worked against them, making them a visible target in the woody, colonial battlegrounds. The defeat of the British led to the official Declaration of Independence on the part of the colonies and the birth of the United States of America

Dressing up as a British Redcoat

Available in adult and children's sizes, the British reccoat costume is a perfect fit for historical re-enactments or school historical pageants. Complete with the distinctive red military jacket of the British forces and with a set of tan britches and a matching vest with buttons, complimenting the jacket with coordinating colors. Pair it up with a lace jabot and matching cuffs with a powdered wigh. White nylon kneesocks give the illusion of hosiery of the day along with a pair of colonial shoes with buckles and a toy musket as detailed accessories.
