While traveling coast-to-coast via airplane is a commonplace part of our everyday lives from hitting up vacation locales to even commuting for business, it's thanks to pioneers in the field of Aviation. From the Wright Brothers Orville and Wilbur to female aviatrix Amelia Earhart and even famed pilot Charles Lindbergh, aviators have shaped the world as we know it with their willingness to fly high and brave where only eagles used to dare.

Dressing as an aviator

Pay homage to some aviators of the past with some simple costumes that reference history or pop culture. Ladies can dress as Amelia Earhart or as a sexy aviatrix with a short, PVC costume accessorized with goggles, helmet, and long white scarf. Guys can dress as Charles Lindbergh with a bomber jacket, an aviator kit with glasses, scarf, and helmet. Make this costume even more recognizable by toting a small baby doll as the "Lindbergh baby." For something a bit more modern, Cruise the skies like Tom with a Top Gun-inspired Air Force jumpsuit. Slap on a pair of aviator shades and be cool like Ice Man.
