About Atlantis

The legend of Atlantis, the lost continent, still endures to this day. Atlantis was believed to be an island near Greece with a highly advanced civilization. Stories say that Atlantis sank into the ocean, sometime around 9600 B.C., even though there has been no concrete proof that it was ever a real geographical locale. Although some believe Atlantis was merely a creation by the philosopher Plato to illustrate some of his political theories, many believe this once great civilization really existed.
