About Archaeologist

An archaeologist is a person who studies human cultures. These individuals will collect and recover data from sites to help document and analyze the information they find. They will interpret the information found such as environmental data, artifacts, bio facts, and landscape. Unlike an Anthropologist an archaeologist is more about the data rather than the psychological human nature. In other words anthropologists look at culture based on movement, the types of things they built or kept. With archaeology it is more about the recovery of the artifacts and how it helps to understand humankind evolution. Archaeology encompasses many types of sub- careers such as ethnology, geography, physics, paleontology, and more.

Dressing up as Archaeologist

The most famous archaeologist in fiction is Indiana Jones; with the bomber jacket, fedora and brown suit. Other archaeologists will have khaki shorts, khaki jacket with multiple pockets, and a pith helmet. Archaeologists usually have guns, artifact collection bags, whip, and tools for the dirt when considering the Hollywood picture. An archaeologist may also just be dressed in a shirt and shorts with boots using the tools of their trade. No matter how old you are there is a costume for infant through adults for archaeologists. A zoo keeper outfit can also be another suggestion along the same lines. Jurassic Park outfits fit within the archaeological theme as do cavemen and cavewoman.
