Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett costumes from the MOVIE
I really really loved "Sweeney Todd". My husband-who normally has NO interest in Halloween...thinks it would be fun (and of course I am all for it!) to dress up as Mr. Todd, Mrs. Lovett, and Tobias (our son) for Halloween this year. I KNOW it is way early-only the end of January-but I am hoping that someone makes wigs and costumes for these characters for Halloween 2008. I think these will make GREAT costumes and can't wait to see them!!! P.S.-for the Mrs. Lovett costume, please make them in plus sizes, too :-)

I would think too. Those costumes will probably appear around the Summer, check back here as we'll try to give updates about it.
Well, when it comes to the costumes, if you mix and match to what you think looks like the costume... it should work. as for the Mrs. Lovett's wig, (I dressed up as her for a mardi gras party.) If you have long hair, it actually isn't a hard hairstyle. all it takes is bobby pins, hairspray, rubberbands and a curling iron. the others, I'm not sure... but that's my suggestion.
There is someone selling Mrs. Lovetts costumes on Ebay, so far I have seen 3 different sizes, and they promise to keep making them. Check them out, they are on ebay, type in Mrs. Lovett costume, there are a few different ones, but the ones by creative minds asylum seem to be the best I've seen out there!!!

There are several stores that offers a good deal. Best Buy: Viewers get a free movie ticket to The Ruins with the purchase Sweeney Todd
Suncoast & FYE: when you buy there you can purchase Sweeny's limited-edition steel book packaging.
Costco: 2-Disc Special Edition DVD and the hardcover official companion book. With a forward by Tim Burton, the book includes over 200 photos.
& the last one, Borders: Packed with every DVD is the version of the official Sweeney Todd Companion book featuring behind the scenes shots from the film and more.
I love the look of this film!
I think Todds main outfit/look is one of the best in cinematic history.
He is greatly inspired by the actors form the silent era, hence dark eyes, pale skin.
I also hope to see costumes for this movie, in junior sizes! I can do my hair PERFECT as Mrs. Lovett's, yet I can't find the costume to go with it. If costumes are made, I hope I can find some in Iowa!

How to Make a Simple No sew Sweeney Todd PARTY Ms.L
this is what i wore 4 my party soz no pics :(
Take a SMALL Black shirt nothing on front, it can have sleeves,short sleeves or no sleeves.
Start with cutting the sleeves off IF you have them.
Turn the shirt inside out and with a white pencil, draw a corset shape from one side to the other.
Cut along your line.
You should now have a rough looking corset top.
If you have made it to big dont worry wear a top underneath or pad your bra!
If you have made it too small dont worry! You're top will look even more corset like!
Then take some red ribbon nd do a corset style ribbon detail down the front and back,Glue them on.
Decorate by sticking bit on how you wish (lace,glitter, beads ETC)

they sell sweeney todd costumes..but a lot of them are out of stock on websites and are unfortunately not readily available in stores. its annoying. as for mrs lovett..thats harder to find. i would check ebay for both Sweeney todd and mrs lovett. i got all my stuff for my costume off of ebay
I haven't seen the movie, but if the characters have distinct looks and/or clothing, chances are good that the costume vendors will create costumes.
